Blueprint for success: Offering Culturally Sensitive & Competent Healthcare - AUDIO
|
“What to do … what not to do.” We have the knowledge and understanding; it’s time to put it into practice! The way to balance our patients’ cultural healthcare beliefs and develop a plan of care that is well suited and acceptable for all is through preservation, accommodation and repatterning. Healthcare professionals need to acknowledge their cultural health beliefs/values along with those of their patients, and understand the differences. We can then find common ground in which to develop a plan of care that ensures a trusting, respectful and collaborative relationship.
